Jane kedratud ümber kiiresti "Little vaim, siis ehmatas mind!"
See toimus umbes 100 aastat tagasi.
I karjus viimaseid sõnu ja shooed nad minema.
"Ok."
Oled paha olend, kurat on teie kapten!
Jane hõikas tugeva häälega: "Oh Great Spirit! "
Minu nägu ilmus koor puu, minu lilla silmad helendas heledalt.

I sighed heavily, I decided to give the books to Jane; they were her mother’s after all. I got up fast, my head reeled for a second and I almost fell over. I climbed up into my tree and got the books, I had read them over the years and new what they said so I didn’t need them any more, they were just diaries of different witches on Jane’s mother’s side. They wrote about how they were misunderstood and how the village peoples had hunted each and every one of them down, except for the lucky few. I got out of the tree and went to find Jane and Russet before they left the valley.
By the time I caught up with them I was tired from carrying the books. I called out to them, “Wait!”
Jane spun around quickly “Little spirit, you startled me!” Then she looked at what I was carrying, “What is that?”
“These are diaries from different witches in your family. They were your mother’s, I thought you should have them. And if you ever need any help, all you have to do is call out and one of my creatures will hear you.” I handed her the books.
“Thank you!” she hugged the books to her chest and smiled.
I turned around and hid a little ways away so I could watch them and so they wouldn’t get hurt.
Over the next year I helped Jane understand her powers of healing, and helped her become an asset to her village. One day she asked me how could she be a descendent from me. She knew that my kind sent out seeds and if two grew together they would create another of my kind. I explained that one of my seedlings, the only one that lived, had decided to marry a woman from the village. My seedling didn’t send out seeds like I had done, they instead had a half-breed child. When the village found out they wanted to kill the child and him, they burned down his tree, thus killing him. For without his tree to create energy and food, he could not live. The child survived because, when the wife heard about her husband’s death she ran away with her child, I sent some of my creatures after them so they would be protected. And after that I never knew what had happened to them. This had taken place about a hundred years ago.
A few days after that Jane was pacing in the clearing in front of me, she had been trying to do magic but the other times had failed. This time she stood in the middle of the clearing and raised her hands together. Her lips moved silently and then a blue glow shimmered around her hands, she gasped in surprise and then the glow went out. I applauded and smiled. She danced around the clearing, singing, and Russet ran after her with his tail wagging.
I watched her and realized that it wouldn’t be long until the village people found her out, I resolved to protect her. And when I left that day I gathered all my creatures of the valley. I climbed to the top of my willow in a place that all could see me and announced my plan. They were to keep watch on her and protect her. If the matters were out of their paws they would call for me. “Now go!” I shouted the last words and shooed them away. In the next minute you couldn’t see any signs of the gathering.
In the next week or so, I went to the clearing, and waited for Jane to come. She didn’t show so I waited some more, and waited. At dusk I finally heard something, men’s shouts filled the air, birds were screeching and diving at the faces of the men, Jane stumbled into the clearing and looked frantically around. I ran up to her and got her attention, she looked at me, and I pointed to a space between the trees to run in to. I took off and Jane followed.
We ran as fast as we could but we still heard the men following us. We led them in circles and zigzagged but to no avail, they still were tracking us. We crossed streams and that slowed them down but did not stop them. By the time we reached my tree they were about a minute behind.
I climbed up into my tree and then got a willow wisp that could work as a whip if the need for it arose. Then I handed the whip to Jane “Jane I will be inside the tree, call me if you need me. It will be a surprise but be prepared for it, we need all we can get.” I melted into the tree trunk, leaving Jane seemingly alone.
“Ok.” She whispered.
At that moment the men burst out of the trees. “Burn the witch!” one man shouted. “ Tie her to the tree and burn her!” the man held up his torch, the rest shouted an agreement.
Jane stared at them; she was paralyzed with fear. Then In a shaky voice, “Why? What have I done to you to deserve this treatment? Haven’t I cured your ailments, set broken bones for you, and taken care of your children? Why do you wish this ill on me?” She started to weep silently; the tears glittered in the torchlight.
“You want revenge for your mother’s death, we know it! You are an evil creature, the devil is your master!” The man shook his torch in front of her, then Russet jumped up from the shadows and grabbed it from his hand.
“See! There you go, the loyalty of wild animals, shouldn’t that be enough for you? And my mother didn’t die for your information, she ran away!” The men grumbled. “And if that isn’t enough I’m sure this will!” Jane called out in a strong loud voice “ Oh Great Spirit! Come forth from your slumber and right the wrongs that have been done to my kind!”
My face appeared in the bark of the tree, my violet eyes glowed brightly. “Who dares to threaten my witch? My only kin, a witch of amazing healing powers that you should be proud of.” My voice boomed though out the valley, the surprise worked the men were scared out of their wits, they would believe anything. “You have woken me up from a great hundred year slumber! I am not happy at this disturbance! You will leave my witch alone, and all of the witches of her line, for she is a direct descendent of mine! Now leave or I shall send my creatures after you, to haunt you in your life and in your death!” I was lying of course but they would believe it.
The men looked at my violet glowing eyes and then ran as fast as they could out of the woods. I came all the way out of the tree smiling, “Good work Jane, I congratulate you.”
“I could say the same to you, Oh Great Spirit” she said sarcastically, she burst into laughter.
From then on every year on that day the willow tree was heaped with offerings just so the Great Spirit wouldn’t wake up again angry. They kept this up because the gifts would disappear within a week.
The little green spirit was a tidy person so she would use the offerings for her animals. The humans just didn’t understand, and they never would as long as they never figured it out. But from then on Jane would teach her children that size doesn’t matter.
